Theater Department

The Theatre Arts Department serves as an educational base, a vocational training ground and an artistic resource for the community. By combining production excellence with academic achievement, the department fulfills its role as a leader in the performing arts in the Stateline area.

Each year the Department presents a diverse production season which combines high artistic standards with public appeal which challenges and expands the talents of students both on stage as well as behind the scenes.

High School Theater

We offer theatre classes and performance opportunities to students in both middle and high school. Students studying theatre at Rockford Christian receive a rounded experience and graduate from Rockford Christian with experience performing, working backstage, designing, and directing.

One of our goals is to give students as many performance opportunities as possible to showcase the talents that God has given.  Students in theatre have the opportunity to perform in plays, musicals, cabarets, and improv/sketch comedy performances.

Middle School Theater

In the Fall, Rockford Christian Schools Theatre produces a middle school production, alternating each year between a play and a musical.  This way, our students have the opportunity to get a taste of different theatrical styles and find one in which they can truly shine.  Every couple years or so, our high school productions will also offer roles for middle school performers, giving them the chance to perform alongside high school students.

Our middle school program provides students with a great foundation on which to build as the enter into our high school theatre program.
