Christ in Action

Dear Mr. Held,

Today (Friday, October 29th), my spouse and I decided to stop and have lunch during some shopping at the Panda Express in the area of East State St. and Perryville Rd. It was right at 12 o'clock. As soon as we got in line, a large group (15 or so) of boys from Rockford Christian entered the restaurant, nearly all at once. My first thought was "here we go". I was prepared for a not-so-pleasant lunchtime.

Boy, was I wrong! Your boys were respectful from the minute they walked in and the restaurant manager reminded them to put their masks on. No arguments, no snide comments, just a quick apology and then the masks appeared. They were respectful to other customers and were aware of the disruption that a large group coming all at once can create in a restaurant. I even saw a couple of them let someone else in line who said they were in a hurry and had a short lunch-hour. They didn't leave a mess when they left and kept the noise level completely normal. What a great group of kids!!!

I am not afraid to complain when there's a problem, but your boys deserve nothing but praise. They represented their school...and Christ...in an exemplary fashion. Thanks for all you do!

Founding Board Member, Bernie Reese, passes away at 96

Bernie ReeseBernie Reese, one of the original founders of Rockford Christian Schools, recently passed away at the age of 96.

Bernie lived his life for God and had a vision of reaching as many individuals as possible to share that passion with. In 1961, Bernie, along with seven other founding board members, brought that vision to life as Rockford Christian Schools opened its doors.

60 years later Bernie's vision continues as Rockford Christian Schools remains committed to its mission: To challenge young people to know Christ as Lord, apply God's truth to all areas of life, love others sacrificially, and achieve the highest level of knowledge and skill in order to serve God and others.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

Why our families chose Rockford Christian Schools

"My daughter Courtney Cardwell is a freshman at Rockford Christian High School. This is our first year attending, and so far it has been quite amazing. All the staff are so warm and helpful throughout our entire process of registering and getting Courtney ready for this new journey. Courtney plays volleyball and basketball. Everyone we've met in the athletic department has been super friendly and welcoming. I'm so thrilled that my daughter has this incredible opportunity to learn in the Rockford Christian environment. Up until this year, she has attended public schools. It is such a breath of fresh air sending her somewhere that teaches Christian-based morals and values. I feel to a high degree that while on campus she is extremely safe and accepted by her peers and all the staff. It is such a blessing to be a part of the Rockford Christian family."

"We are so pleased with Rockford Christian School. The most wonderful event is through his cross country team. Noah is new to the team and right away they have included and welcomed him. In fact, they gave Noah the third-place trophy which is so beautiful and will be cherished. This team spirit and kindness inspires him to do his very best! As parents, we couldn’t be prouder of everyone on this cross country team."
