National Honor Society

National Honor Society students do various service projects throughout the year. This year there are 40 members, juniors and seniors. NHS has also adopted a road, so they do road clean up twice a year. However, their primary focus is helping special needs students. Groups of NHS members go to Johnson Elementary every month and work with their K-3rd grade special needs students.  The groups also does fundraisers for the special needs kids. During the summer they serve at Rockford’s Art in the Garden event. They have helped with the cancer run and Special Olympics and also played in a special Olympics basketball training event for special needs high schoolers. This was to help them prepare for the Special Olympics. In addition to these projects, they also host 2 blood drives a year and help with Rockford Christian school events.
