Extended Care Program

The Extended Care program at Rockford Christian School is a program made available for those students who need care before school and/or after the school day has ended. Start time for Morning Care is 6:45 a.m. The goal is to serve families by providing a safe, fun, and enjoyable place for Pre-K through 4th grade children to play, do homework, and grow in their relationships with each other. Students will participate in activities such as gym time, homework time, playground time and games. Students will also be provided with a snack, or they may bring one from home.

We use an iPad system for signing kids in and checking kids out. When picking up your child from after care, please use the pick-up pass the school provides you for after school pick-up. Anyone you have picking up your child from Extended Care should have a pass. If you need more, please let the office know. If they do not have a pick-up pass, they will need to be on the approved pick up list and will need to show an ID in order to pick up your child.

Extended Care Guidelines

1. Registration form with approved pick-up people listed must be filled out prior to using the program. It is best for everyone to fill one out even if you think you won’t need Extended Care for those unexpected times you may need to pick up your student(s) late.

2. Extended Care staff are not allowed to dispense medication.

3. Any student who has not been picked up by 3:05 p.m. will be sent to Extended Care. Teachers will bring these students to us at that time. There will be no charge until 3:15 p.m.

4. Morning Care – No charge if dropped off at 7:35 a.m. and after. If dropped off before 7:50 a.m., students must go to the gym and not wait in the hallway or go to classrooms. They will be dismissed from the gym when it is time to go to their classroom.

5. When picking up your child in the school, please show the office your pick-up pass and they will call your child out. If they are outside, please let one of the workers know so they can sign your child out and call them over.

6. Extended Care ends at 6:00 p.m.  Students who are picked up after 6:00 p.m. will be charged double the regular Extended Care fee.

Program Hours
Before Care – 6:45 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
After Care – 3:05 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Program Fees
6:45 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. - $1.50 every 15 minutes (no charge after 7:35 a.m.)
3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. - $8.00 for the hour billed in 15 min. increments ($2.00/15 min.)
4:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - $6.00 an hour billed in 15 min. increments ($1.50/15 min.)
