Tuition Assistance Program and Scholarships

It is the desire of Rockford Christian Schools to be available to all families who believe that God wants them to have their children in a Christian school. We recognize; however, that some families struggle financially and are in need of some assistance with their tuition. Therefore, we believe that the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a vital part of our overall ministry.  Each year we will trust the Lord to supply the monies necessary to respond to the needs of this program. 

Below are some details on how we do that.

Empower Illinois “Invest in Kids Act”
Invest in Kids is a state-funded scholarship program for Illinois children enrolled in private schools.
The scholarships offered through this program could cover as much as 50 to 100 percent of tuition and eligible charges for the upcoming school year. Eligibility to receive a scholarship is based on your family’s household income and number of dependents. Applications begin January 11, 2023.

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
The TAP program is a need-based financial assistance program funded by the families and donors at Rockford Christian Schools. Through an online application process, families in need may submit their request to our Finance Committee for review and approval. The scholarships offered through this program could cover as much as 30 percent of tuition.

Edward Sharp Scholarship
The Edward Sharp Scholarship is a need-based scholarship funded by the family of Edward Sharp in
his memory. Money is available to low income and minority students who wish to attend Rockford
Christian Schools but need financial assistance to help pay tuition costs. The scholarships offered
through this program could cover as much as 30 percent of tuition. Interested applicants will apply
online through FACTS Grant & Aid.

Diane Bertrand Memorial Scholarship
It is the desire of the Bertrand family to further the recognition of Diane’s service and devotion to
Rockford Christian Schools, the mission, students and faculty through the Diane Bertrand Memorial
Scholarship. As a part of the Tuition Assistance Program, the Bertrand family will select candidates
to receive the Diane Bertrand Memorial Scholarship for the applicable school year. The scholarships
offered through this program could cover as much as 30 percent of tuition. Interested applicants will apply online through FACTS Grant & Aid.

In God We Trust Scholarship
In God We Trust Scholarship is a needs-based scholarship funded by a single parent family of
Rockford Christian alumna. This scholarship is meant to provide financial assistance. The scholarship offered through this program will cover $1,800 toward tuition. Interested applicants will apply online through FACTS Grant & Aid.

Scrip Program
What is Scrip? Local and national retailers sell gift cards to Rockford Christian at a discount. Family
and friends can purchase Scrip cards through Rockford Christian, in person or online. The profit you
earn through Scrip can be applied to any school expense. Please see the separate informational sheet on the Scrip Program or for a complete list of vendors and information on how to start saving, contact our Finance Department.
