Annual Service Day

Every year our student body takes a school day to serve the Rockford community. This year our Service Day is February 21st. Students will serve various organizations with different projects on a volunteer basis.  Some of the organizations we serve are:

  • Habitat for Humanity ReStore - where 20 students will help equip the store as they provide homes for needy families
  • Helping Hands Food Pantry - where 12 students will help pack food for needy families in the community
  • Kids Around the World - where 15 students will work cleaning and refurbishing used playground equipment to be distributed to children in poverty
  • Midway Village - where 25 students will help with various projects that help the village maintain historical perspective on our community
  • Peterson Meadows - where 25 students will play games, visit with and read to the elderly residents there
  • Rockford Public Schools - where 3 different groups of students will play with and read to elementary kids and provide good mentorship and role-modeling
  • Sr. Elizabeth's Food Pantry - where 10 students will help distribute groceries, unload trucks and prep groceries for the following week
  • Temple Baptist Church - where 20 students will help with various projects around their building and offices
  • Tinker Swiss Cottage - where 20 students will visit the see the historic landmark and help with cleaning projects in preparation for their upcoming season
  • Other organizations we've served in the past include Northern Illinois Food Bank, Rock House Kids, Carpenter's Place, Rockford Rescue Mission, Goldie Floberg and various churches in town

We are always looking for great serving opportunities for our students.  If you run a non-profit charitable, historic, or Christian based organization and would like to be included for our service day, please contact the school office.
