Chapel

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2Tim 3:16-4:4)

The mission of chapels at Rockford Christian Schools is to glorify God by presenting the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the student body and showing them how to apply the gospel in a real life context.  Common elements of chapel include a time of worship, with thematically selected songs, and a biblical message presented by a faculty member or a guest speaker. Messages presented are often a part of larger topical series such as a study in the book of Jonah, an exploration of how our society views truth, and testimonies on the importance of spiritual disciplines. After chapel, it is not uncommon for teachers to have encouraging conversations with students concerning chapel messages.
