“Happiness…it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.” Vincent van Gogh
The elementary art curriculum is based on the seven elements of art: line, shape, color, texture, form, value, and space. The principles of art are introduced at the intermediate level: pattern, rhythm, emphasis, variety, balance, harmony, and unity. Art history is a key component within each art lesson.
The goal of art at this level is to guide each student towards an appreciation for fine art, develop artistic skill in several artistic medium, and to provide inspiration to live life in 3D, which is to say, me, my world, and God.
We have an art show each fall and spring for both the middle school and high school. Our students are encouraged to exhibit and compete in local, regional, and national art competitions.
