HEAD OF RECRUITMENT

Rockford Christian is accepting applications for the Head of Recruitment to provide leadership and direction in recruiting and retaining mission-fit families and employees. The position promotes the success of Rockford Christian by hiring and orienting new faculty, staff, students, and parents to a shared vision of learning that fosters a healthy school culture of academic excellence and spiritual growth where learners flourish.


Purpose of Position: The Head of Recruitment fulfills the mission of Rockford Christian School by providing leadership and direction in recruiting and retaining mission-fit families and employees. The position promotes the success of Rockford Christian by hiring and orienting new faculty, staff, students, and parents to a shared vision of learning that fosters a healthy school culture of academic excellence and spiritual growth where learners flourish.

Position:

  • Full-time, 12-month
  • Salaried, at will employee
  • Eligible for full-time, calendar year benefits

Evaluated By:  Head of School
Direct Reports:  None at this time

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management or Psychology, or be in pursuit of a degree in the field.
  • In agreement with the Rockford Christian Statement of Faith and positional statements found here.
  • Active member / regular attendee of a Bible-believing church, and committed to growth in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Experience in all aspects of human resource recruitment.
  • Obtain a Human Resource certification from either HRCI or SHRM within (2) years of hire

Human Resource Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage hiring processes for recruitment and retention of current and prospective mission-fit faculty and staff.
  • Stay apprised of labor legislation and inform managers about changes in regulations.
  • Track metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, retention rates, etc.
  • Coordinate with department managers to forecast hiring needs.
  • Participate in job fairs and career events.
  • Research and select advertising options.
  • Build the school’s professional network through relationships with other human resource professionals, admissions directors, and college partners.
  • Write and post job descriptions on career websites, university boards, and other appropriate sites.
  • Evaluate and screen applications, resumes, and cover letters.
  • Conduct phone and/or in-person interviews with the hiring manager.
  • Provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Coordinate the interview process, including setting the schedule for the interview, collaborating with the hiring manager to create interview questions for the position, and meeting with prospective employees to summarize benefits.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Contact new employees and prepare onboarding / orientation sessions.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork ensuring legislation requirements are met.
  • Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires.
  • Complete payroll including time cards, benefit hours, deductions, etc according to school policy.

Admission Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage admission programs for recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with constituents, including partner schools, community organizations, and professional consultants.
  • Plan and organize admission events and receptions for prospective students and families.
  • Develop strategic goals and actions to achieve target enrollment.
  • Cultivate relationships with community members as well as parent ambassadors.
  • Work in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer to award financial aid based on recommendations of FACTS SIS / RenWeb (or other needs based scholarship program).
  • Create, implement, and report on annual goals, objectics, and plan of action for recruiting and retaining students.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations including budget, database(s), files, correspondence, and mailings.
  • Recommend ways to improve our school brand for prospective employees and families.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and families new to the school; provide timely customer service in answering questions.
  • Participate in on-going professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintain regular and reasonable attendance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired qualifications of Teacher Candidates:

  • Holds Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education from an accredited college or university
    • Teacher candidates must hold a 4 year degree from an accredited college or university to be eligible for employment as a teacher at Rockford Christian Schools
  • Has or is eligible for ACSI teaching certification
  • Shows proficiency in technology, organizational and administrative skills
  • A teacher who is ready to integrate vibrant faith with excellent academics, while providing a safe and healthy classroom environment
  • Has a desire to be involved in extracurricular leading or coaching roles (academic clubs, student government, athletics, theatre, service learning,  etc…)
